Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in California

Assault with great bodily harm

My son has been charged with the above. He is 17 years old, I was the one he assaulted..He choked me with two hand.

What type of jail time, if any is he facing? We live in So. California. L.A. County.

Re: Assault with great bodily harm

As a minor, he'll be going to juvenile court. Because there are so many variables (his record, if any, the extent of injury, his attitude), that there's no way to predict what would or might happen.

He's potentially facing serious felony charges that can stick with him for the rest of his life. Juvenile is vastly different than adult court and there may be things his attorney can do to minimize the damage to your son's record and future.
