Legal Question in Employment Law in California

My employer has announced a mass layoff. They have also ordered all employees to take unused vacation time prior to their termination date. Once a layoff notice is given can the employer require you to use your vacation leave?

The employer can ask that you take the vacation time however he cannot force you to do so. Upon permanent branch/business closure the employer MUST pay off any pending balance. It seems like a very GOOD candidate to file a Workers' Compensation Claim. Feel free to contact our office to further discuss at (626) 585-0017 there is NO onligation.
