Forced to transfer to anothe position?

I work for an Indian casino, last week i was told that i will be transfered into another department and have a different job totally different than what i applied for which was just over 2 years ago. If i do not take this position, i will be fired. Is this legal? Can they force you to take a different position in a different department that you do not want or they can fire you?

Indian Casinos are on Indian reservations, not subject to California laws. There is an ongoing debate whether even the most basic labor laws apply on Indian reservations. You would have to follow whatever tribal procedures allow, to pursue any rights that may have been violated.
