Habitual Call offs

We have a policy in our Employe handbook stating that employees should not call off more than 8 days in a year. Can we legally disipline or even terminate eployees who call off well over this, 11, 12, 13 or more times.

That depends on how many employees you have, and the reasons for the call offs. . . if the reason is workers' compensation, sickness, family leave, disability, you might run afoul of various laws by trying to enforce your policy. . . . Note also that you are required to explain to employees in the employee handbook their rights under various laws -- family/medical leave, disability accommodation. . .
