Legal Question in Employment Law in California

i thank Kristine and Jacob for answering my question quickly and any time put into a site like this is every appreciated. but my question was not clear enough. there is a web site that anybody can work at doing mundane tasks and they tell you this task will take you 45 minutes and they will pay you ONLY .60 cent total for completing the task now that is only 80 cents an hour.But remember this is over the internet. you yourself can apply and do this job.is there some loop pole they use. i don't understand. the site : mturk

It would appear that the people performing these services are independent contractors, and not employees. The law requiring payment of at least minimum wage does not apply to independent contractors, who can be paid whatever the parties agreed to.

I have seen a number of people categorize people as independent contractors when they are indeed employees. I suggest you contact competent labor counsel before trying to categorize anyone who works for you as an independent contractor.
