Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Any Recourse?

A friend of mine is a Vice President in Japan based company. He recruited me to come to work with him. At the time I started, he and I were the only employees in the US. Last year we began construction on a new plant in Nevada. At first we would visit the construction site together on occasion. Then, early this year, he began to spend more time in Nevada on his own. He began to abuse alcohol and drugs, and to pick up women at strip clubs. He also began treating me with less and less respect, occasionally asking me to engage in unethical behavior to cover his behavior. He rarely came home to visit his wife and child. Eventually, his wife became concerned and came to my office when I was there alone. I tried to evade her questions but gradually her questions became more specific and I felt bad for her situation and spilled the beans to her. Now my boss is not talking to me, I am isolated in the California office and am being forced out of the company. I know that it is better that I leave but I am wondering if there is any action I can take to give me security until I find a new job?

Re: Any Recourse?

Just dont quit until you get a new job because if you do you will not get unemployment.
