Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Who can sit in on a deposition for a civil trial (wrongful demotion, discrimination on the job, etc.)? I'm being deposed and they've been having a coworker sit in on previous depositions with the plaintiff. Can I ask that she not be allowed to sit in on my deposition as she is close friends with my boss and his boss and can/will go back and tell them everything I say, thus, jeapordizing my job.

If the defendant is a business, they have the right to have a representative present at all depositions. In addition, you do understand, don't you, that the deposition transcript is available to your boss and his boss, and at the very least the attorneys will tell them what you say anyway, don't you?
