Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Termination and Bonus Compensation

After almost ten years in an executive level position, my position was eliminated. Regular year end bonuses were paid to me and considered part of the compensation package. These were in the $75,000 to $100,000 range. Upon termination I was given one week severence pay. Am I entitled to a pro-rata portion of my expected bonus also?

Re: Termination and Bonus Compensation

Maybe. It will be necessary to review the bonus plan. If the bonus plan takes overall performance into consideration, rather than a specific trigger for payment, you may be entitled to payment. Feel free to call if you would like a more detailed review of your situation.
