If a LANDLORD gives a tenant a 30 day notice to move because the property is being sold, and the tenant moves leaving the property in good condition BEFORE the 30 days are up, is the landlord entitled to rent for the remainder of the 30 days??

Yes, because you had the right to stay there the full 30 days. If you had worked out an agreement as to the date before moving then he would have waived his right rent for the portion of time after you left.
