Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

What are the laws in ca regarding a residental apartment managers in a 50 unit building I read something stating that if the manager doesn't have there license its void is this true? Or it says the person they are under has to have their license. How do I find out who they are under and does that persons name also have to be on the lease

You are mistaken. If a property is managed by a management company under contract to the owner(s) they must be licensed or the supervising person at the company must be licensed. If the owners just hire a resident manager, however, as an employee of the owners, that person does NOT have to be licensed. Furthermore, the licensing requirement is for the benefit of the owners of the rental property, not the tenants. Tenants have no standing to object to any failure of compliance with the licensing requirements.
