Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

i am renting in los angelos area and the garrage went up in flames... the fire department said that there was no foul play... i had all my equipment for my company in the garrage, but i do not have renters insurance... over 50,000 dollars in equipment burned in this fire... the owner and insurance say that they do not cover content in garrage... is this true..? and wat can i do..? i am renting a house and has only been here for three weeks...

If the cause of the fire was not your fault and was the fault of bad wiring, then the landlord might be held liable for your loss. If the fire had been caused by lightning or vandalism, then the landlord might not be liable.
