Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Temp placement of tenants during termite fumigation

I have a 22 unit apt complex in San Diego that we have recently discovered a very bad infestation of termites in. I have no other choice but to tent the building. This requires the tenants and anything living in the apartments to vacate for 3 days. Do I have a legal responsibility to pay for all of the tenants to go elsewhere for 3 days? If not, am I required to abate rent for the 3 day period in which they are out of a house? There is nothing in the Lease regarding vacating for pest treatment, only that we may enter their unit to do regular pest treatments.

Thanks

You should abate their rent for the daily value over three days. (As a side note, you should also post a guard overnight to provide security while the tent is up and no one's there.) Good luck.
