car damage

who would have to pay if...

i'm working at a children's academy and i was asked to pick up and drop off kids, so i agreed to. however, one day, a kid slammed my door so hard the window was dislocated from the door and it fell between the cracks, where the window is supposed to pull up and down. so, i told my boss and she said she wouldp ay for it. then, she sent me to a body shop she knew and they fixed it, but when i was ready to take my car back, the computer system was totally damaged. i couldn't even see my gas gauge. i drive a 2001 mercedes c class. so, we took it right back to the body shop and they began to touch the battery and cut a portion of my backseat because they were looking for ''something''. i was sure they didn't know what they were doing, so i decided to take it to the dealership and now the cost for the damage of the computer system and the rear seats is over 2 grand. my academy says they won't pay for it 'cause it's unbelieveable to say the kid broke the window and they have no fault. the body shop won't pay saying they didn't do anything wrong either. what......... can......... i do?

Re: car damage

Sounds like the body shop's fault. Get a letter from the dealership as to the cause of the damage done -- the back seat and the computer. Take it with you to small claims court.

Re: car damage

Get an estimate from the dealership and a letter explaining what was damaged and why. Then send it to the body shop and your employer and ask them to pay in 15 days. If they do not pay, you can then file in small claims court. I would file against both, but be aware that you may be fired after this.
