Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California

Job related

Hi there,

I am an IT consultant and I moved from CA to FL for my new project based on the Purchase Order the middle vendor and my employer had. But after I moved there he (vendor) kept postponing the start date. After 2 weeks he tells me that the project is shelved. Based on his word and Purchase order I drove all the way from CA to FL and also signed a lease for apt for 7 months. Can I sue the vendor for what he did to me and make him pay for all my expenses and wasted time. All I had in writing is the Purchase Order between the vendor and my Company with a tentative start date of march 24th on it. Any advice on this is really appreicated. Awaiting your response.

Re: Job related

I wish I had good news for you, but the answer is "maybe". The question is not "can I sue"?, since you can always sue. It is "Can I win?".

Based on your statement, it appears all the initial talks took place in California. Or was the vendor and/or employer elsewhere? Did you take part in any discussion, or was it all your employer?

You can see where this is going. I need to know who to sue, and where was the contract born to fruition.

This is quite complex, because you can use "project", "purchase order", or other words, but this is a contract, and we have to know who to sue, and where.

Please resubmit with complete deals of the contract. Who? What? Where? When? Why?

Then, I will do my best to help you.
