vandalism

Is it vandalism if you take down high school school campaign/election posters and make them into a ''TREE HATERS'' Banner and then repost it for your fellow students to see? If it isn't against the law, is taking down SCHOOL election posters in anyway against the law?

If the school gave permission to the candidates to post the signs on school grounds, then yes, I would say that constitutes vandalism. As well-intentioned as such militant and misguided environmentalism might be, it's still wrong (in so many ways). Trees are a renewable resource. Shouldn't environmentalists love that we use them?
