Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California

Doctor Lawyer?

I was operated on for a liver tumor that proved to be benign. Six hours after my discharge from the hospital, I had to be taken from my home by ambulance to a different hospital. At this time I was diagnoised with a bile leakeage as a result of the surgery I had. After an x-ray it was determined that my surgen had nicked my bile duct, causing septic posioning. I was taken into emergency surgery, at which time I went into full respiratory arrest, and remained in a coma for the next three months. I feel that my attorney who accepted this case on a contingency basis, and is now asking me to pay in excess of 15,000 for depositions from the hospital and doctors is not acting in my best interests, beacuse we have passed the discovery cutoff date in this case, and to date he has not even submitted any interrogatories. Do you have any advice for me? Do you think this attorney is working in my best interest? I suffer each day as a result of this doctors mistake.

Re: Doctor Lawyer?

Do not know if it is a good med. mal. case until consult with experts. I do question an attorney who has not sent written discovery but there can be reasons for it. Does he have experts?
