Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Rental car?

On Monday, while my car was parked on a residential street, a woman ran into the front end of my car. Luckily some neighbors had heard the noise and walked out. The neighbors called me and I came and got the insurance info from the woman responsible. I have been playing phone tag with the insurance adjusters, but from what I have been told by them I am entitled to a rental car while they fix mine so I can still go to work. Now the rental car company is calling and saying that I am responsible for paying all the extras on the car (which I still have not recieved) like comp and collision for the rental. I can barely pay the $100 deposit they are demanding. Today is Friday and they just put me off until they leave work. I cannot afford to pay anything, and missing work is not helping. Am I responsible for paying this when my car was just sitting there?

Re: Rental car?

You might talk to your own insurance company about this, and also to the Auto Club if you're a member.
