Am i entitle to a refund of money spend

I bought a house and had to use my girlfriend at the time,name to get the house after 5 yrs i called it quits i want to keep the house she wants to sell it and me give her 1/2 the house, if i have to sell it can i get the money i spend on the house. i paid all the mortage, property taxes and down payment. she only help with the gas,water that type of stuff. because she drinks i have move out and am staying in a motel till i can get this resolved but its getting to expense now to pay both can you help?

If she won't go voluntarily, you will have to file a partition lawsuit to force the sale. In the lawsuit you will have to prove that you are the actual owner of the property. It will take several months if not a year to force the sale by this method, so it won't be done anytime soon. See an attorney as soon as possible.

from your question you sound like you did a foolish thing, no written agreement to take care or this "partnership asset" -- it seems it is in both names, too bad -- now immediatly, yeasterday get a good attorney who is an expert in real estate/ family law, even tho you are not married -- get all your paperwork, chces, bank staments, everythin that is in the house out of there to a safe place as this is a paper trale kind of case, i have handled sssoooooo many of them and the more hard evidence you have of what you paid for is important, by the way just be prepared for her lies that she paid you in cash, how many times have i heard that -- act quickly and maybe your lawyer can come to some settlement wiht her to your satisfaction if she sees you are serious and are willing to go to court to protect your interests -- good luck
