Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California

Sexual harrassed

Good Evening,

A gentlemen that I work with is harrassing me and I dont know where to go from here. I secure the company that he works for, he would touch me in inapproiate ways and has even kissed me. I have asked him several times to stop but that tends to make him more aggressive. Finally, I reported it to a supervisor but they have not removed him. They told me that if I move location I would have to change my hours. I dont even want to go to work anymore, when I see him coming my heart races a mile a minute. Due to my frequent headaches behind this situation, I have even contacted the job help line for assistance. Again, where do I go from here?

You should seek the services of an experianced employment attorney. California employers are required to remedy co-worker harassment. Please contact me if you would like some assistance.

You go straight to an attorney if the company does not properly remedy the situation without penalty to you. IF you could prove what you say, it would be a case worth pursuing. Contact me to discuss if interested; I have done this kind of employee rights litigation for over 15 years.

Re: Sexual harrassed

Your employer is required to correct the situation. If I understand what you are writing, you work for a security company that provides security for the company where the harasser works. Both companies are required to respond to complaints of harassment and take appropriate actions. You should not have to suffer changing your work hours because of this situation. You want to make sure that the situation is documented on paper (by letters to management) so that if you ever do go to court, you can prove that the companies did not take your complaints seriously. You will need to decide what you want -- just take care of the situation, or also file a lawsuit. This is something that will require some thought and conversation with an attorney. If you are in Northern California, feel free to call me. If you are in Southern California, I can refer you to a number of competent attorneys. Good luck.
