Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California

sexual harrassment case not kept confidential

Long story short I was recently involved in a sexual harrassment case my supervisor was fired. His wife works with us and my director of nursing who is also a friend of the wife told her what happened and i was involved. After she assured me that she would not tell her if asked. The wife somehow has my phone number and has called me. Did she break a law that was suppose to protect me in some way?

Re: sexual harrassment case not kept confidential

It is unlawful for an employer to retaliate against an employee who complains of or assists with a complaint of sexual harssment. The phone call, in itself is not enough to constitute retaliation. Not enough information is available to determine if your right to privacy has been violated but as in any legal wrong, the question will always be asked, "what are your damages?"
