Legal Question in Tax Law in California

Am I legally obligated to share my personal information with my ex for purpose of filing taxes? I have asked my ex prior to do so, he filed single, I filed correctly, now the IRS wants to file correctly. Can I say no?

I do not understand the question. If you were not married at the time of filing your return, you file as single (or head of household if you qualify). If you were still married, but already separated, you must either file married jointly or married, filing separately. What ever is correct is the correct way to file.
