Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

I got a traffic ticket from a policeman that I didn't deserve so I fought it in court. At first the judge said I won b/c the officer didn't appear, but then someone stood up and said he was him. I know for a fact that was not the same officer that gave me the ticket but was unaware if I could do anything about it. I thought the whole situation seemed fishy, but I argued and felt the officer didn't defend himself as well as I did, but I got a replacement judge and he told me I had to wait for his ruling after he went to see the site, I was not going to agree to let him do this and know I had the right to an immediate ruling but he didn't give me an option and the officer then suspiciously bolted out of the courtroom. He found me guilty by mail so I appealed. They tried to say I didn't file properly at first, then when I clarified it they made me wait almost 8 months before they sent me a ruling saying I was disqualified for some reason. I felt this was nothing but corruption on the part of the police department and the court and this has caused me a lot of stress and I have a mark against my driving record now. I was wondering if there was anything at all I could do about it? Thanks.

You could have put the cop on the witness stand under cross-examination and demanded that he show ID. I would be surprised if they really switched cops on you, because it would have been so easy for you to nail him on the witness stand, and he would have been caught flatfooted (as it were) committing perjury. Why would he take that kind of risk? Maybe your memory is faulty. Anyway, and unfortunately, the case is over, and you lost. You probably could have hired an attorney for not much money.
