Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Am I entitled to workmans comp?

I am a term employee at Camp Pendelton (pipefitter) for the last 5 years.

In the last several years my knees have deteriated to the point of needed them replaced.

Since I am not a permanent employee but a term employee, am I still entitled to workmans comp for the time I will be out and also to be retrained in another job area as I will no longer be able to jump into ditches and lift water valves, etc.?
