Legal Question in Technology Law in Colorado

conversation on yahoo instant messenger

ok,last night while i was under the influence of pain medication,i tryed to have a conversation with a women on instant messenger, when she did'nt answer,i told her to watch her back, not thinking of it as a threat, this morrning i got an e-mail from a friend of her's,he said they were putting the private conversation out on all databases so everyone could see,and also sending it to local police departments, along with my yahoo profile for everyone to look at, now today,in talking with other friends of yahoo messenger, was told that they could'nt do that, because yahoo is messenger is private,no one is suppose to see what everyone else is writing, something called invasion of privacy. so my question is this, can they do what they said there going to do,and try and make an example out of my stupidity.
