Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

Refuge for teens in conflict with their parents

My daughter's friend is constantly in conflict with her mom and recently ran away from home. Her mom told her not to come home. What does the law say about my taking her in? Do I need to involve child services, or can her mom and I enter into an agreement that allows the girl to live with me for a specified time? I want to help, but I want to cover my legal bases.

You should discuss a guardianship power of attorney with the mother and an attorney.
