Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Connecticut

Reporting requirements post discharge

What is the period of time that I must report assets, such an inheritance, after discharge by chapter 11, personal bankruptcy, if I was aware that such an inheritance was due, but not the amount, nor, obvioulsy, when such an inheritance would be realized.

Inheritance and bankruptcy

Property that a debtor receives by bequest, devise, or inheritance; in a divorce propertysettlement; or from life insurance, is property of the bankruptcy estate if the debtor acquires or becomes entitled to acquireit within 180 days of filing the petition. This generally means the date of death, not when the amount is finally determined. In a Chapter 11 case, however, you also have to look to the plan, if one has been confirmed,to see if it provides for a longer period. This is an area on which you should seek the advice of your lawyer (this response is notlegal advice, as I don't know your situation).
