Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

Alimony

In CT I'm told the accepted

percentage split of the breadwinners

income is 38-45% to the person

receiving alimony. Is this true & does

this percentage include child

support?

There is no set formula in CT. The non-breadwinning spouse can realistically claim 50% but many factors come into play: length of marriage and reason for the break up are often considered, as well as the earning capacity, education and experience of the non-breadwinning spouse.
