Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Connecticut

Can I sue my business buildings lanlord????

I opened a Pet shop in Oct. of last year. The only one in town. I quickly took off. I gained alot of business and support from the town. Over the winter, the heat in my unit ( which also controled other units) would not regulate or shut off. It was sweltering in my store every day. This problem led to big problems such as molding of the dog food I sold and actually had customers bringing back 40lb bags of dog food loaded with mold. This happened all winter and after countless letters and complaints it was never and still is not fixed. I lost a ton of money and customers. It actually broke down a couple of times and I had to close and take all my animals out so they did not freeze. He just waited till the winter was over and shut off the furnice. There is more to it but not enough room to explain. I have copies of the cert. Letters I sent. Answering machine messages from them about the heat and pictures of the thermostat showing that the heat was set at 65 and it read as high as 89 in my store. I also fell down the back stairs due to the fourth step from the bottom breaking because it was rotted. They tore the whole thing down after it happened before I could get pictures of it but I have a witness to me getting hurt. There's more

Sounds like you may have a cause of action against the landlord. However, I would really need to know more facts and review the letters you sent and the lease you signed.
