Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

How I can be affected by my spouse' s default?

we had a house. it was on my name (he gave me a quit claim deed) and the mortgage was on his name. he estopped paying the loan because the house had a problem with the city code and lost the value and was considered an additional house.now the bank is going to do a foreclosure.I'd like to know if my credit can be affected or if I can lose my personal properties for the reason that the deed is on my name. thank you for your cooperation.

Re: How I can be affected by my spouse' s default?

You have asked several questions, but primarily, was the quit claim deed given to you by your husband recorded with the County? If not, do so immediately. A bank cannot foreclosure on a marital home without having both parties on the loan and deed.

Good luck,
