Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I have a car from a buy-here-pay-here lot, and my car was repossessed for having no insurance. I was not notified about any notification that they needed proof of insurance. i have had my car for about a year and half and this is the first time they have repossessed my car for this. Can they do that?
