Real Estate Contract

I have a set closing date on a new property and I don't want to close. Do I loose my deposit?

Read your contract. Usually, it provides that not only will you lose your deposit, they can sue for specific performance and obtain a judgment against you to compel a sale or for the full purchase price. In this market, that is what sellers are doing.
