Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

A Sheriffs officer came by house today, looking for our truck. I had the truck but the officer told my husband there was a levy against the vehicle. This from an old CC collection that has to be at least 7 years old. I have looked up excemptions and husband is only support for both of us and that is only transportation we have. I am disabled but not on disability at this time. The truck's worth is tricky ... it is a 2004 F150 truck but it needs tires, needs new egnition coils, and the one side was smashed by a hit and run driver two years ago.

Would it be exempt from being taken? And if so, what steps do we do to stop this?
