Re: changing a judge

The short answer is yes. The long answer is no, you will not be able to change your judge. You have to identify specific legal grounds to change a judge and if your lawyer has not sought to do so, it is unlikely that such grounds exist.

Also, just having a harsh judge, or a anti DUI judge are not grounds.

Re: changing a judge

There must be a legal basis to change the judge. Simply because the judge is too harsh or you don't like him/her is not a valid reason.

Re: changing a judge

Hello: I saw you have received a couple of answers, but will add some more specifics...The main legal reason a party in a law suit (or crim. case) desires to change the judge is where the party feels he/she cannot get a fair trial. There could be a conflict of interest, such as, the judge is the brother-in-law of the prosecuter or has some other relationship with an opposing lawyer, party or some other person with a relationship to one of those people. The judge could have made a statement that a party feels disqualifies him/her from being fair and impartial. That one may be harder to win on. Good luck.
