First time DUI offence......can the charges be dropped to lesser offencee?
I was pulled over for a broken headlight and was charged with a DUI....i was told that if i got a attorney that the charges could be dropped to reckless driving, or something lesser than a DUI....is this possible?

It is possible that your attorney can convince the prosecuter to reduce the charge to something less than a dui. Your attorney can also file motions and hold hearings to try and weaken the state's case at which point the state may offer a reckless driving. You can't do worse by hiring an attorney. The first thing that stands out in the little information you have given me is whether the stop of your car was legal. Anyway it is possible.
