Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Abandonment

I have a daughter who is gonna be 4 yrs old in April, her father and I split up (never married) when she was a year old. I have not heard from him or received a penny (which is fine) can I legally have it so he has no rights to her and can not come up out of the blue and interfer? I am sure he will not but I would like to make it legal is there an abandonment law for such a situation? He knows where we are and has mad NO attempt, she does not even know him...Am I able to have his name removed from the Birth Cert???

Re: Abandonment

Can't get the name removed but you can move to terminate his parental rights. Unfortunately he would have to be notified of your intentions.
