if like a father died

i dont know my real father but the man that i have known as my father since i was 4 years old os ill. i am now 25 years old and want to make sure all is taken care of like he wanted. is a will the only way to makee sure i get the house and whatever eles he wanted me to have. he has aa POD on his bank account for me but that is it. what can i do to make sure all is taken care of if he wants to push off doing a will till its to late.

Unless title to the asset is also in your name, a will is required.

You need your father figure to prepare a will. Without one, the laws of Florida would award the house and other property to his family members. Hopefully he is of sound mind, and can prepare a will at this point.
