Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Giving My Sons The Right Name

I've been with my wife for 13 years and she already had a set of twins which were 3yrs old at that time..I grew fond of them and them of me.I even got to love them as my own and never told them that I wasn't their father. For the last 4 years they were asking why was their last name different from my wife's and daughter's they don't like their existing last name. So,I had told them the truth and now they want to have my last name and so do I...So please help me at this situation I don't know what to do...Thank You

Re: Giving My Sons The Right Name

Have you and your wife considered adoption. You could adopt the twins and have thier named changed at the same time. Another alternative is to file a petition for a name change. Your wife would have to do this since you do not have any legal rights to the children since you have not adopted them.
