Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My husband wants to adopt my son, we live in Florida. The biological father is not on the birth certificate and has NEVER had anything to do with my son. I found the biological father and talked to him he said he would sign over rights if it would make things easier but when I sent him the forms the notary said they cant sign out of state forms. He lives in Conn. Is there a place I can get the form? Can he just write a letter and have it notarized?

This is not an excuse to sign. The documents should reflect they are coming from the State of Florida. The Notary can sign in the State of Conn under his provision for signature. Folllow the forms on the Florida Family Law Forms online. He will need to sign the Consent

If he is not going to sign then just file the case and bring him before the judge.
