Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

The mother of my child took our child and left while I was at work. She refuses to come home. I called the police and they said since we are not married she has sole custody according to Florida law and there's nothing they can do. I'm not sure what my next step is from here.

You need to file a paternity case to establish parental rights. As part of that case you will be required to pay child support.
