Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I just moved to Florida and my 2 children stayed with their dad in Kansas I was paying child support and just got laid off from my job can I get my rate adjusted? If I can't what happeans if I can't afford to pay?

You may have to ask a Kansas lawyer that question.

If you can get your case transferred to Florida, then it is possible to have your support reduced, although you should realize that child support tends to be calculated much higher in Florida than in most states. If you can't pay your court-ordered support (whether recalculated or not), then, under Florida law, you can have assets seized, have your driver's license and passport suspended, and even be put in jail.
