If you are subpeonaed in a divorce case to testify is there any legal way to get excused and not have to appear in court or testify?

If you have a really, really good excuse (like nonelective surgery or something) and the other side won't release you to reschedule it, you can file a motion to quash your deposition notice or subpoena and set your motion for a hearing in front of the judge.
