Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

How could she?

My wife wants a divorce. I don't. She wants to use mediation. I agree. She wants the house, the kids, and for me to help pay for everything for those two things. She makes $1400 a month. I make $2700 a month. The house payment is $1100. She says if I don't agree to these things in mediation, she will use her father's money to take me to court and get them, because she knows that the court will give them to her. We both feel court is the worst thing financially and for the kids. But she will fight for what she wants. I am afraid of this too, but I want my kids and my house. She was a stay-at-home mom until 4 months ago. Because of that, she knows she will get the kids, and the house for them to live in. What power do I have? I feel my hands are tied. If I fight, I loose. If I agree I loose. Can someone help? This is a follow up to ''Dad's chances'' question. Thanks

Re: How could she?

Unfortunatly, you are in for a battle. The court will definitely look into both parties ability to pay expenses. Suggest you retain local counsel

familiar with family law issues. Good luck./
