Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

length of time to return items that ex requests

I posted here yesterday so hopefully I can get good advice again.

My ex and I recently broke up. My ex has requested the remaining ITEMS that is still have. I sent an email saying just let me know of an address to send to and I would ups the items.

Whats the length of time if I get no response back from my ex, to hold the items or length of time where I can keep the items?

and does an email constitue delivery of the consent to return items? in regards to the length of time to hold items

Re: length of time to return items that ex requests

There is no specific law on this. Your best bet is to send her a certified letter telling her she has thirty days to get her stuff or you will get rid of it, but I guess if you had her address, you would just UPS her stuff to her.

The problem with email is that you have no way to prove she actually got the email, and, once you get rid of the stuff, she'll claim you never sent the email.

You might also consider sending her stuff to her parents, sibling, etc.
