Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

Deportation of Cuban-American
A Resident Alien Cuban male, previous National Guardsman, was convicted of minor felony and has served required sentence. However is on expired Green Card and is currently being held by Immigration awaiting hearing. He is considering signing a ''Deportation Agreement'' which acknowledges that he will agree to be deported should Cuba become a free country.
Can he be deported regardless of the fact that Cuba is a Communist country?
Legally, as a convicted felon, does he stand a chance of renewing the Expired Green card (fighting for citizenship)?

Depends on the crime and we normally do not deport to Cuba. He should walk free no later than 6 months of detention with immigration
