Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Florida

I bought access to a website-it was a "models" website.

The photos on the website were posted by other users. I did not post anything.

I, along with a lot of other people were sent letters by the photographer of the pictures claiming we are guilty of contributory infringement.

I had no way of knowing he did not give permission to the website owner. Can I be sued over this?

The owner of the photos has now posted the names of the people he is saying infringed on his website- "wp-board.net" His name is Jimmy Stephans.

Anyone can be sued over anything; the real question is how much is it going to cost the person bringing the suit to hire an attorney, etc. and what are their chances of recovering an amount that makes it worthwhile.. In the facts you describe, I would say your exposure is minimal; but you never know. Stupid people make stupid decisions. Consult with an attorney in your local area.
