Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Florida

Car Stolen

My car was stolen and found a week after it was ''torched'' by thieves.

The police towed my car without my authorization and the tow company sends me the tow bill for $300. Why am I responsible for the tow bill since someone stole my car? The thieves are responsible for my car since they stole it! My car is stolen and YET I have to pay for the towing of my own car? There should be laws against this! I am getting screwed!

If i dont pay the tow company they will put a lien on my license. As if I am the criminal! I had full insurance coverage for the first 6 years. I was paying $159 a month for 6 years but i couldnt afford it any longer because my insurance company sucked my finances dry. Instead, I opted for basic PIP coverage on my car since it was a 1998 honda civic with 80k miles only worth 5k. Hence, my insurance company wont pay a thing because all I have is liability coverage, yet they charge me high premiums for full coverage. I want to file a law suit against my hotel where I work for negligence since that is where my car was stolen on july 4th for not having adequate security. But they cant do anything about it I already brought it to their attention and their security doesnt cover theft either. This is fraud. I wantjustice

Re: Car Stolen

You screwed yourself when you reduced your insurance coverage to PIP.

You can sue the thieves if you can find them, but good luck suing the hotel where you work.
