Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Brakes and Lunches

My husband works in the heat for a construction crew and his boss made him fork from 7:30am till 11:30pm with no brakes and only one 30min lunch and wont allow him to carry a water jug. Is this illegal? If so where in a law book can I find the answer so maybe the boss will quit before he hurts someone.

Re: Brakes and Lunches

No there is nothing illegal about this under Florida or federal law. I suggest he stops complaining about minor things and just be happy that he still has a job in the Florida construction industry given current economic circumstances. It's not like he is working a union job in New York City after all!

The only thing I see in your post which concerns me is the water jug issue.

Are saying that the boss is DENYING your husband access to water? or is he just preventing him from carrying a cooler full of water everywhere he goes on a busy construction site?
