Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Disability

I have been working for the same company for the last 8 years as a Brewmaster (beer maker), job that is very phisically demanding. I am provided with all kinds of equipment, but when is related to heavy liftting it comes just to my strength. I already have a knee surgery, several neck and back injuries and right now pain in both elbows. What should I do besides going to doctors? Do I have rights to claim disbility? If that is the case, what do I need to do? What percentage of my salary ($45.000,oo yearly) will I keep? How this works?

Thanks.

Re: Disability

You need to find out if your ER has a short or long term disability benefit policy and apply for benefits under that policy. Most if not all employers today have these policies. You may not be able to collect if you are capable of contiuing to work. Additionally, if you have workers comp injuries, you need to file a wc claim to recover for those injuries.
