Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

i was in an auto accident last year and filed a lawsuit against the at fault party, when the suit was settled i was advised that my medical insurance company had the legal right to be reimbursed for all of the medical bills they paid on my behalf. my question is this if i wouldn't have filed a lawsuit and would have just settled with the at fault's insurance company on my own would my medical insurance company still be able to request reimbursement for the medical bills they paid.?

The answer is yes. Their right to reimbursement has nothing to do with you filing a lawsuit. If you just walk away with no recovery of any kind, then they do not have a right to get reimbursed.
