Slip and Fall in Georgia Hotel

My wife & I were on vacation of Dec '08 in Savannah. She slipped & fell in bathroom. The hotel paid for an emergency room visit the next morning. Diagnosis= damage to right foot & right knee. I'm in the military. I reside in Florida now. But, my new duty station will be in Virginia as of Feb '09. We we're thinking of legal action. What can we do?

A claim can be made if the hotel was careless and caused the slip and fall.
